644 Swingloader

The Swingloader is an articulated wheel loader with a 200 degree swing boom and high rails for on and off track. The 644 Swingloader features a ROPS cab, jump seat, and excellent visibility. Front and rear differential locks provide unmatched traction for getting on and off rail, and incredible drawbar pull for dragging rail. Our earlier models were a conversion to a conventional wheel loader, that we support with spare parts. The 644 Swingloader is ground-up, designed and manufactured by Customer Metal Fabrication, Inc.

Rail Attachments

Customer Metal Fabrication, Inc. has developed rail attachments for conventional construction equipment. We design and manufacture attachments for tie handling, tamping, and ballast under-cutting.

Tie Handling:

Our tie handling attachments are commonly used on 12 to 20 metric ton excavators. We also build tie heads for backhoes.

Tamping:

Our tamping head attachments are commonly used on the same machine as the tie handling attachment. The attachments can be switched quickly when needed. We have developed a revised tamper with rotational positioning. The rotational positioning tamper attachment allows the excavator to tamp multiple ties without having the excavator in direct alignment for each tie.

Under-Cutting

Spot ballast under-cutting has become an important issue on today’s high-traffic rails. Customer Metal Fabrication, Inc. is the leader in under-cutting attachments. Our under-cutting attachments are commonly used on 20 metric ton or larger excavators.
